Innovative Materials
A key aspect of my practice is developing and manipulating innovative materials. I explore biomaterials and alternative processes alongside traditional textile techniques, pushing the boundaries of surface and structure. Through experimentation with natural dyeing, screen printing, and material construction, I create textiles that are not only visually engaging but also tactile and conceptually driven. This hands-on approach enables me to continually evolve my understanding of what textiles can become.

COLOUR EXPLORATION
Colour plays a central role in my work, serving as a tool for storytelling and emotional expression. I am particularly interested in how naturally derived pigments can create depth, variation, and unpredictability within a palette. By working with organic dye sources, I embrace the subtle shifts and imperfections that arise, resulting in colour outcomes that feel authentic and dynamic. My use of colour often reflects an earthy yet contemporary aesthetic, bridging natural tones with more refined, graphic compositions

SUSTAINABLE DESIGN
Sustainability underpins my design decisions, shaping both my material choices and production methods. I actively seek to minimise environmental impact by working with natural dyes, emerging biobased materials, and mindful processes that prioritise longevity over disposability. Rather than treating sustainability as a constraint, I view it as a catalyst for innovation, prompting me to rethink traditional approaches and develop textiles that are both responsible and forward-thinking

I draw inspiration from natural processes, material behaviours, and real-world contexts, translating these influences into considered design decisions. This investigative approach enables me to design with intention, ensuring that each outcome is informed by concept and functionality rather than purely aesthetic direction.
 
Collaboration and adaptability also shape my ethos. Whether working in industry settings or on academic projects, I value the exchange of ideas and the ability to respond to diverse briefs and environments. My experience across textile design and trend forecasting has deepened my understanding of how design operates within a wider context, allowing me to create work that is not only visually engaging but also relevant, communicative, and aligned with contemporary industry practices.
